LMU & Munich
Munich is a major center for higher education, research, technology, and the media. LMU, the University in the heart of Munich, forms an integral part of the urban landscape and has campuses throughout the city.

Munich is the capital of Bavaria, the southeastern German state known for far more than its soccer, beer, and lederhosen. A vibrant and culture-rich metropolis, Munich is located on the River Isar some 80 kilometers north of the Bavarian Alps. With 1.4 million inhabitants, Munich is the largest city in Bavaria and the third largest in all of Germany. It is a major center for higher education, research, technology, and the media.

Munich is one of the world's most friendly and vibrant cities. With its renowned museums and galleries, theater and festivals, art and ballet and music, including the world-class Bavarian State Opera and Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. Its proximity to the Bavarian Alps and the variety of lakes, castles, and leisure activities in the surrounding countryside add to Munich's uniqueness. It is indeed a city like no other.
